The «NORGE – Seafood from Norway» labelling is a joint value for the Norwegian seafood industry. Here you can find descriptions and examples on how the label is to be used to be perceived the same way in all the different markets.
Every day 37 million meals Norwegian seafood is served all over the world. Norwegian seafood is unique because it origins from the cold, clear waters, unites several generations of experience with modern knowledge, and is harvested and cultivated in a sustainable manner.
The «NORGE – Seafood from Norway» label is telling consumers all over the world that this is seafood with all these important qualities. That's why this brand is a joint value for the entire Norwegian seafood industry. The Norwegian Seafood Council wants to make sure that all the actors are perceived the same way in all the markets. We have therefore developed guidelines for using the «NORGE – Seafood from Norway» label. You can download the guidelines from "attachments to download".
We encourage the seafood industry to use the «NORGE – Seafood from Norway» label. Surveys from different countries shows that consumers know the label and associates it with quality.
The «NORGE – Seafood from Norway» label is an origin label and is therefore not used alone as a logo. It is always used together with the chain, exporter or product logo. This is the joint label of the industry and is not to be used as main label. Other labels should always be same size or larger.

Combined with other logos this label makes sure that consumers all over the world chose seafood from Norway.
Companies processing Norwegian seafood outside of Norway must have a valid license agreement in order to use the "Norge - Seafood from Norway" logo.
If your company have partners or own processing facilities outside of Norway, you can get a license to use the "Norge - Seafood from Norway" logo on your products. The license gives you the possibility to use the logo on Norwegian seafood products made of salmon, trout, herring, mackerel, capelin, clipfish, salted fish, stockfish, prawns and shellfish in accordance with the applicable guidelines and specifications set by the Norwegian Seafood Council.
