Snow crab has now been added to the list of approved live species that can be exported from Norway to China.
Following political discussions in China, Norway has gained approval to export live snow crab to China. The talks also included plans to explore the approval of other live species, such as brown crab, sea urchins, and oysters. The Norwegian Food Safety Authority is handling the technical aspects of this process.
Snow crab is now on the approved list of live species for China, and updated lists of approved seafood producers have been published. The Norwegian Seafood Council supports companies in registering for approval if they are not yet listed.
