Vietnamese authorities have updated the requirements for Norwegian companies that wish to register to be approved for importing seafood products to Vietnam.
Who do the requirements apply to?
Companies that are already approved in Vietnam are not subject to the new requirements to maintain their approved status. However, if these companies make any changes to their registration, such as adding new products or categories, the new requirements must be met.
Companies that are not yet approved in Vietnam must meet the new requirements during registration.
The new registration form in the production format "registering for the export of seafood to Vietnam" will be available for registration from Monday, October 21, week 43. From the same day, you will find updated information and guidance on the page about exporting fish and seafood to Vietnam.
The new requirements are:
A HACCP declaration must be attached to all registrations. The HACCP declaration should cover all categories and products for which registration is sought.
Under the four questions about "Description of production process" in the registration form, the company must describe how food safety is ensured throughout all production processes. This includes not only within the production facility itself but also during the farming phase or the actual fishing, as well as during the transport of fish from the farm/fishing boat to the production facility.Information about labels used on goods to Vietnam must be provided. It is possible to attach a picture of a label as an attachment to the summary in the quality system.
The Norwegian Food Safety Authority has revised the guidelines for registration in the MATS form services. It is important that everyone who is going to register or change their registration reads the guidelines before starting the registration. Also, follow the guidelines during the registration process. Use the help texts in the MATS form services.
To ensure that everyone has time to register or change their registration before the next list is sent to Vietnam, we are extending the deadline to December 1. Therefore, it is important that the company's registration is received, with correct information and attachments, by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority by December 1 to be included in the next list. If the registration or attachments contain errors, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority cannot guarantee that they will be forwarded on the next list to Vietnam.
