According to the new agreement, the EU will open 12 duty-free import quotas for Norwegian seafood.

According to a press release from the government, the agreement means that the EU will open 12 time-limited import quotas for Norwegian seafood. The agreement must now be approved by the Storting. It will take a few months before Norwegian industry can start using the quotas, but efforts are being made to ensure that they can be used as soon as possible.

The agreement covers the period from May 1, 2021, to April 30, 2028. The quota volume will be distributed over the remaining agreement period until May 30, 2028.
