On 3 and 4 November 2026, the Fischwirtschaftsgipfel will take place in Hamburg, Germany’s leading conference for the seafood industry.

Every November, the fishing industry gathers in Hamburg for the Fisheries Summit to discuss the sector’s current challenges.

Over the course of two days, presentations and panel discussions will offer recommendations on how to strengthen the competitiveness of the industry and the companies operating within it. This year, the organizers are again expecting 250 participants. In 2025, 46% of them came from the import, wholesale, and processing sectors.

This year’s partner country is Norway, whose speakers will discuss, among other topics, what it means to supply the world with fish, how salmon farming has evolved from a pioneering spirit to a precision industry, and how social media and “open innovation” can be used to promote fish consumption in Germany. Chef Jostein Medhus will introduce a recent study outlining the culinary capabilities of Fjord Trout vs. Salmon and Tuna.
