The Norwegian Seafood Council organizes a Norwegian Seafood Pavilion during World Seafood Shanghai (WSS) from August 26th to 28th, 2026.

As China’s second-biggest seafood exhibition, WSS provides a solid platform for Norwegian exporters to exhibit, network with current and prospective clients, and engage with Chinese business partners. The 20th WSS intends to bring 3,000+ exhibitors and 100,000+ professional buyers from 30+ countries / regions to the show space of 120,000 square meters.

What we can offer at WSS:

  1. Individual company stands. The registration to individual booth expired in April.

  2. Industry & Consumer research. On Tuesday August 25th, NSC will organize two Focus Groups: one for Salmon Consumers and one for Sashimi Taste Test among chefs. See the details below:  

    • Group 1: 10:00 – 12:00, Salmon Consumers Focus Group - to learn more about Chinese consumers’ drivers and barriers for salmon consumption, as well as their attitudes and behaviors related to salmon.

    • Group 2:13:00 – 15:00, Sashimi Taste Test among chefs – to evaluate sensory attributes and market acceptance of new potential products: Norwegian farmed cod, farmed halibut, farmed rainbow trout, and established products: salmon, tuna and raw coldwater prawns, for sashimi consumption among chefs.

  3. The China 9th Global Salmon Industry Summit. This is the largest salmon seminar in China, and will be held from 13:00 – 17:00, on Wednesday August 26th. The seminar is organized by the trade media Seafood Guide, where NSC is co-organizer.

  4. Norwegian Seafood Reception. On the evening of August 26th starting at 6pm, NSC will host a Norwegian Seafood reception, bringing together around 150 Chinese and Norwegian seafood industry professionals for networking.
