Only half of us eat recommended amounts of seafood, new study shows
A recent study by the NSC uncovers that seafood consumption is far below recommended amounts. The study, which is the largest seafood consumer study in the world with more than 25,000 respondents across 25 markets, found that only 51 percent of people reported eating seafood two or more times a week.

Norwegian seafood exports total NOK 99 billion in 2018
Norway has exported 2.7 million tonnes of seafood to reach a new record of NOK 99 billion in 2018. This represents a volume increase of 4 per cent and a value increase of 5 per cent, or NOK 4.6 billion compared to 2017. This equates to 37 million meals of seafood every day of 2018, or 25,700 meals per minute.

Great interest in new seafood markets in the Middle East

The events are part of our focus on emerging markets and will help to create a B2B arena for Norwegian exporters. Norwegian seafood exports exceed NOK 71 billion in 2018
Norway has exported 2 million tonnes of seafood with a total value of NOK 71 billion so far this year. This represents a volume increase of 174,000 tonnes or 8 per cent, and an increase in export value of NOK 2.3 billion or 3 per cent measured against the same period last year. Can Norwegian seafood exports pass the NOK 100 billion mark by year-end?

New Norwegian seafood export record for July
Norway exported 159,000 tonnes of seafood worth NOK 7.1 billion in July. Year-on-year growth by volume was 8 per cent, while export value increased by 7 per cent or NOK 2.2 billion from July 2017. So far this year, Norway has exported 1.6 million tonnes of seafood worth NOK 55.2 billion. Export volumes have increased by 11 per cent, and the value has increased by 4 per cent or NOK 2.2 billion from the same period last year.

The annual study, consisting of over 25,000 respondents around 25 countries across the globe, show that safe and sustainable is the fastest growing reason for purchasing seafood across all countries.

Volumes were down by 11 per cent, while export values were up by NOK 821 million.So far this year, Norway has exported 1.2 million tonnes of seafood worth a value of NOK 40 billion. Export volumes have increased by 12 per cent, while the total export value has grown by NOK 1.6 billion or 4 per cent.

Norway exported 927,000 tonnes of seafood with an export value of NOK 31.5 billion. The volume is the same as last year, and export values have increased by NOK 485 million or 2 per cent, compared with the first four months of 2017. In April, we exported 172,000 tonnes of seafood worth NOK 7.7 billion. The export volume is down 4 per cent, while exports increased by NOK 847 million or 12 per cent.
