​Norway exported salmon worth NOK 61.4 billion in 2016. This is an increase of 29 per cent, or NOK 13.8 billion compared with 2015, and is the highest export value of salmon ever. Measured by volume, Norway exported 980,000 tonnes of salmon in 2016, which is 5.2 per cent or, 53,340 tonnes less than in 2015.

Norway exported 44,000 tonnes of shellfish worth NOK 1.8 billion in 2016. This is a volume increase of 10 per cent and an increase by value of 21 per cent from 2015.

​Norway exported seafood to a value of NOK 91.6 billion in 2016. It is 23 per cent, or NOK 17 billion more than in the previous record year 2015.

​Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other whitefish worth NOK 13.8 billion in 2016. This is an increase of 6 per cent, or NOK 800 million from 2015.

​Norway exported 674,000 tonnes of pelagic fish for NOK 7.8 billion in 2016. There is a volume decrease of 15 per cent and an increase of NOK 11 percent from 2015.

Entering the last month of 2016, the Norwegian seafood industry year to date exports totalled NOK 83.2 billion. By value this represents an increase of NOK 16 billion compared to the same period last year.

The value of Norwegian salmon in October exceeded the total export value for the whole of 2015. Export value increases were highest in Asia, North America and Africa.

Norway has beaten all previous records and exported seafood worth NOK 65 billion this year to date. This is an increase of 26 per cent or NOK 13.2 billion compared with the same period last year. September exports marked an all time high, totalling NOK 8.8 billion. An increase of 31 per cent or NOK 2.1 billion from September 2015.

Norway exported seafood worth NOK 7.1 billion in August. This is an increase of 32 per cent or NOK 1.7 billion compared with August 2015. Year-to-date seafood exports currently total NOK 56.3 billion. An increase of 25 per cent or NOK 11.2 billion compared with the same period in 2015.

The price of Norwegian salmon remains high. With an average price of NOK 58 per kg, export values in August were 42 per cent higher than the same month in 2015. Norwegian trout prices have doubled.

Norway exported seafood worth NOK 6.6 billion in July. This is an increase of 15 per cent or NOK 882 million compared with July 2015. So far this year, seafood exports have totalled NOK 49.2 billion. An increase of 24 per cent or NOK 9.5 billion compared to the same period in 2015.

Norwegian seafood exports totalled NOK 6.7 billion in May. This represents an increase of 28 per cent or NOK 1.5 billion compared with May 2015. Year-to-date seafood exports stand at NOK 35.5 billion. An increase of 26 per cent or NOK 7.3 billion compared with the same period last year.

The Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC), a public company owned by the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries, has employed Yogi Shergill as country director for India.

​So far this year Norwegian seafood exports have totalled NOK 28.8 billion. This is an increase of 26 per cent or NOK 5.9 billion year-on-year.

Norway has so far exported 5,160 tonnes of fresh, whole quality marked Skrei codfish in 2016. This year's season has been characterized by good quality, high prices and high demand.

Norway exported seafood worth NOK 21.3 billion in Q1 2016. An increase of 22 per cent or NOK 3.8 billion compared with Q1 2015. For the month of March alone, seafood exports were worth NOK 7.4 billion. This is an increase of 14 per cent or NOK 937 million compared with March 2015.

​Norway exported salmon to a market value of NOK 13.4 billion in Q1. This is an increase of 21 per cent, or NOK 2.34 billion from the first quarter of 2015. Measured by volume, some 227,464 tonnes of salmon were exported during the first quarter. By volume, this represents a small decline of 6 percent compared with the first quarter of 2015.

Norway exported cod, saithe, haddock and other demersal to a combined value of NOK 4 billion in Q1. This is 15 per cent or NOK 529 million more than during the first quarter of 2015. Volumes increased by 17 per cent and in particular those of fresh and frozen products.
